Take a break from flipping in Klintebjerg Odsherred.
Many field herpers are of that opinion that the number of Anguis fragilis is decreasing dramatically in Klintebjerg.
The last couple of years the population has gotten smaller and smaller. This is clearly due to human disturbance.

Please, don’t flip stones and boulders in klintebjerg at Odsherred this year.
If you see somebody doing it - then stop them quick and educate them.
Never in my life has I seen so much interference as these days. Every time we go to the hotspots;
the big stones and boulders have been flipped over lying scattered arround. Shelters between
boulders are smashed in seconds when somebody flip a stone without putting it back. So don’t do it.
You are disturbing the animals to an extend that is beneath all criticism. We can’t see the
consequences before it’s too late. Remember this. The limestone boulders have been lying on top
of each other during hundreds of years. Why destroy a perfect habitat by rearranging the stones
almost every day/week. It's become a everyday occurrence, and it is very frustrating.
Mayby you don't think you are disturbing the animals?
But think about how many people that visits these spots.
Tourists, children and herpers included.
I used to flip my self, I have to admit that, but my knowledge grew along with my knowledge for the particular area.
Now I never flip in the hotspot anymore, it's the main place for breeding in the entire region.
I don't know if the people that are doing it are geologic hobbyists hunting for fossils or field herpers.
My guess is fieldherpers, its clear they came for the Anguis since they are decreasing in numbers....
Please stop flipping in the hotspots of Odsherred; Especially Klintebjerg.
Follow this advice - and if don’t care about this – then please put the rocks back.
There is no need to mess it all up. It really hurts to watch for us who love these areas!

There are many other places you can flip - woods and gardens for example.
But my recomendation for Odsherred is no flipping, Lets preserve
Were currently writing a complaint to the government.
The area should be incorporated under the habitat proctection laws.
- And there are no signs at the area explaining that there are many species living there.
Including red listed species under the Habitat-Directive Annex IV of the Bern Convention Appendix II.
We hope to change that at the least, so no more stones get flipped over.
